Coverage & networks

Wherever you land, Volo keeps you connected through established local networks, so you never have to think about carriers, coverage maps or settings. Here’s how the connection works, where we reach, and what to expect once you arrive.

How your connection works

Local networks
Volo doesn’t run its own towers. We partner with established mobile carriers in each destination, the same networks the locals use.
Automatic
When you arrive and activate, your phone connects to the partner network with the strongest signal in that location. Nothing to configure.
No carrier to pick
You never choose a network manually. If a stronger partner network is available, your device uses it.

Where we reach

Where we cover

Volo covers destinations across Asia, Oceania, Africa and beyond, through two kinds of plans.

Single-country plans

Dedicated to one destination. The best value when your whole trip stays in a single country.

Regional plans

One eSIM that works across a group of countries. Ideal for multi-stop trips, with no switching between borders.

Every plan lists the exact countries it covers on its product page. For regional plans especially, check that each country on your itinerary is included before you buy. Browse all destinations.

Speeds & networks

What to expect from the connection

Network
Speeds follow the local network: 4G / LTE in most markets, 3G / 4G in some regions such as parts of Africa, and 5G in select destinations with a compatible plan and device.
Auto-connect
Your device selects the best available partner network on its own. The exact carrier varies by location and is continually optimised.
Data-only
Plans provide mobile data. Calls and texts work through apps like WhatsApp and FaceTime. See the FAQ.
Hotspot
Most plans support sharing your connection with other devices. Any exceptions are noted on the product page.
Good to know

What affects your signal

Like any mobile network, real-world speed and signal depend on where you are. Coverage is strongest in cities and towns, and naturally thinner in remote areas, deep indoors, underground, or among very large crowds. The local network’s own status can play a part too.

If a connection drops or slows, it usually helps to move to a more open spot, restart your phone, or switch your preferred network mode in settings. For step-by-step fixes, see troubleshooting in the FAQ.
