What is an eSIM?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built into your phone. Instead of slotting in a piece of plastic, you scan a QR code and a mobile plan is installed directly onto your device — ready to connect the moment you land.

Your phone already has a tiny chip soldered inside it that can store mobile plans. When you buy a Volo eSIM, we send you a QR code by email. Scanning it writes a travel data plan onto that chip. You can keep your normal SIM in place at the same time — the eSIM simply runs as a second line for data.
