eSIM Compatible Devices

Most phones released from 2018 onward support eSIM. Your device also needs to be carrier-unlocked. Here’s a quick guide.

✅ Quick check (30 seconds)

  • iPhone: Settings › General › About — if you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.
  • Android: Settings › About phone › SIM status (or dial *#06#) and look for an EID.

📱 Supported Apple devices

iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and every iPhone since (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 series and later), iPhone SE (2020) and newer. Also iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad and iPad mini with cellular from recent years.

🤖 Supported Android devices

Google Pixel 3 and later; Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Note 20, Z Fold and Z Flip series, and select A-series (e.g. A54/A55); plus recent flagships from Motorola, Huawei, Oppo and others. Wording in settings varies slightly by brand.

⚠️ Important exceptions

  • Carrier-locked phones won’t accept a third-party eSIM. If you bought your phone on a contract, check with your operator that it’s unlocked.
  • Some mainland China & Hong Kong iPhone models were made with dual physical SIM trays and no eSIM. If you bought your iPhone in those regions, run the EID check above to be sure.
