How it works

Setting up a Volo eSIM takes a couple of minutes.

We recommend doing it before you fly, on Wi-Fi, so you land already connected.

I

Get your setup email

After purchase, your eSIM setup email arrives within minutes (check spam if you don't see it). Open it on the phone you'll travel with. One tap installs the eSIM, with no extra steps.

What your setup email looks like. Tap the button for your phone and the eSIM installs itself.

II

Install with one tap

iPhone
Open the email on your iPhone and tap Install on iPhone, then follow the prompts and label the line, for example Japan eSIM. On older iOS, use Settings › Cellular › Add eSIM and enter the details manually from your email.
Android
Open the email on your Android phone and tap Install on Android, then follow the prompts. On older phones, use Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › Add eSIM and enter the details manually from your email. Wording varies slightly by phone.
Manual
Choose “Enter Details Manually” and paste the activation code (LPA string) from your email.
III

Turn on data roaming for the Volo line

This is the step people miss. For the Volo eSIM line, switch Data Roaming on. This is normal for travel eSIMs and costs nothing extra. It simply lets the eSIM connect to the local network abroad.

iPhone
Settings › Cellular › select the Volo line › Data Roaming on. Set the Volo line as your cellular data line.
Android
Settings › SIMs › select the Volo line › Roaming on, and set it for mobile data.
IV

Land and connect

Your plan activates automatically when you arrive at your destination and connect. That’s when your validity period starts, so installing early never wastes days.

No data after landing?

  • Make sure the Volo line is on and selected for cellular data, with Data Roaming on.
  • Restart your phone, or manually select a network operator in settings.
  • Still stuck? Contact us with your order number.
